first_imgIt’s been two months since the world lost Linkin Park‘s Chester Bennington. Today, the band has announced that they will reunite for a “one-night-only” event at the Hollywood Bowl on October 27th. With all five surviving members together for the first time since Bennington’s death, the event–billed as Linkin Park and friends–will raise money for Music for Relief’s One More Light Fund in memory of Chester Bennington. All information about the event can be found here. Linkin Park has also released a video for their original “One More Light,” the title track of the band’s recent LP.Earlier this year, when Chris Cornell committed suicide, Chester and the rest of Linkin Park paid tribute to their fallen friend with a heartfelt rendition of their track “One More Light” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Bennington, who also sang at Cornell’s funeral, committed suicide on what would have been Chris Cornell’s 53rd birthday. So today’s release of the “One More Light” music video is especially meaningful to pair along with the Chester Bennington tribute concert announcement.Watch the official music video for “One More Light” below:The new “One More Light” video, directed by Joe Hahn, shows Chester Bennington rocking out on stage, surrounded by fans, as well as some intimate behind-the-scenes moments with his bandmates backstage. Guitarist Mike Shinoda explained in a statement, “‘One More Light’ was written with the intention of sending love to those who lost someone. We now find ourselves on the receiving end. In memorial events, art, videos, and images, fans all over the world have gravitated towards this song as their declaration of love and support for the band and the memory of our dear friend, Chester. We are so very grateful and can’t wait to see you again.”Joe Hahn also added, “It has been incredibly emotional to work on this, and especially to watch it. I feel that by doing it, we not only faced some of our biggest fears, but it enabled us to use our talents to bring some light to people that need it. As we move forward to the Hollywood Bowl show and beyond, I think about the people that connect with the band, outside and inside our circle. This video is a gesture of good will to the people that want that connection.”All information about the upcoming celebration of Chester Bennington can be found here.last_img
