first_img Box Score (PDF) Watch Live Next Game: at Southern Illinois 10/4/2019 – 6 p.m. Preview Live Stats CHICAGO, Ill. – The Loyola University volleyball team capitalized on Drake errors to defeat the Bulldogs in four sets Monday evening at Gentile Arena.The Ramblers took the Missouri Valley Conference match, 3-1, by set scores of 27-25, 25-23, 26-28, 25-18 behind four players with double-figure kills, including Taylor Venuto with 15 kills on 33 attempts.Drake (7-9, 1-2 MVC) was led by Gillian Gergen’s 14 kills, six blocks and six digs. Emily Plock also added 12 kills and 10 digs. Haley Bush led all players with 20 kills, but they were tempered by 19 errors on a night in which the Bulldogs committed 34 attack errors.Paige Aspinwall continued to shine with a season-high 50 assists and a career-high 21 digs. Kylee Macke also added 20 digs for the Bulldogs.The first three sets were tightly contested throughout. However, Loyola (9-6, 2-0 MVC) pulled away for good in the fourth set by building up a six-point lead midway through the set to defeat the Bulldogs.Drake remains on the road for its next matches with an upcoming series at SIU and Missouri State.
